Osteoporosis management includes treating the underlying cause of the disease, if known; preventing further bone loss; and preventing fractures. Treatment may include medications like bisphosphonates, calcitonin, estrogen therapy, hormone replacement therapy, parathyroid hormone and teriparatide.
